Qigong Practice Times
Students frequently ask when is the best time to practice Qigong. In truth, it depends on the form.The general rule of thumb is to respect the natural rhythm of the body and the day. We don’t do invigorating Qigong within 2 hours of bedtime as it can prevent us from sleeping. We warm the body up before we do stretching. We listen to our body and adapt to its needs. Many of you have asked about books to augment your learning process. Listed below is a small selection of books that I’ve found useful in my journey. It is by no means complete. The Taoists are great believers in documenting their alchemical journeys for future generations of practitioners and there are literally thousands of books on the topic.
Self-scanning
Self-scanning is a great health maintenance practice. It balances the energy in the body and helps to remove blockages and smooth the Qi pathways. It is best done early morning and/or in the evening before sleeping.
