New Moon Medley

Many ancient traditions and modern practices recognize and tap into the power of the moon’s cycles. Daoism, as a tradition that follows nature, follows the lunar cycle. Special meditations are practiced, incense is burned, the beginning of a new cycle is honored.

Wild Peace Studio co-hosts with Jane Henley a monthly new moon gathering. A medley of Qigong, Meditation, journaling, reading and discussion are planned. Because the new moon falls on different days of the week, please note that the TIME for the gatherings will vary month-to-month depending on the day of the week.

The new moon dates (and gathering times) for 2024:

  • December 30th, The Last Moon – Monday – 7:00 pm

There is no charge for the gathering, but we are most grateful if you choose to contribute to the studio.

Please register for the gathering to receive the address and zoom information. Thank you!

Address and Zoom Details are also available at the end of this page when you have registered and are logged in. Thank you!

Night Mooring at Maple Bridge  – Zhang Ji  (d. 780)

The moon sets, birds cry, and frost fills the sky.
River maples, fishing torches – can’t sleep.
From Cold Mountain Temple outside Gusu;
the midnight bell sounds to this traveler’s boat.

(Gusu was the ancient name for Suzhou)
