New Moon Medley

Now Hybrid

Many ancient traditions and modern practices recognize and tap into the power of the moon’s cycles. Daoism, as a tradition that follows nature, follows the lunar cycle. Special meditations are practiced, incense is burned, the beginning of a new cycle is honored. Beginning in August, Wild Peace Studio will host a monthly new moon gathering. A medley of Qigong, Meditation, journaling, reading and discussion are planned. Because the new moon falls on different days of the week, please note that the TIME for the gatherings will vary month-to-month depending on the day of the week.

The new moon dates (and gathering times) for 2024:

  • October 2nd, The Chrysanthemum Moon  – Wednesday – 7:00 pm
  • November 1st, The Excellent Moon– Friday – 7:00 pm
  • December 1st, The Winter Moon – Sunday – 10:00 am
  • December 30th, The Last Moon – Monday – 7:00 pm

There is no charge for the gathering, but we are most grateful if you choose to contribute to the studio.

Please register for the gathering to receive the address and zoom information. Thank you!

Address and Zoom Details are also available at the end of this page when you have registered and are logged in. Thank you!

October 2nd – Lunar 9-1 -Honoring the Chrysanthemum Moon

October 2nd is the new moon and the first day of the 9th Lunar month. This cycle is the Chrysanthemum moon cycle.

The sun sets straight away into the water.
Half the river trembles, half the river turns red.
How we cherish the first three nights of the ninth moon: the dew like pearls, the moon like a bow.

Bai Juyi, in The Lunar Dao by Deng Ming Dao, pg 287

We hope that you will join us for the New Moon Medley!
